Much to my surprise everything seems to be working out very well. I'm back in Portland, living in the too cool for it's own good East End in a condo with a water view. I've scrounged desk space in my own building in the corner of a friends office and am shooting locally. Currently in the middle of two weeks of shooting for LLBean in their great Studio 1912 location. But of all the new things happening, probably the most exciting (and challenging) is the final closing of lease negotiations for the armory in South Portland, Maine with the intention of turning it into a sound stage for feature film production. www.pressherald.com/news/movie… .
As you can see by the link there have been many ups and downs on the road to this point. The transition should take between three and five years but the building, to be known as Fore River Sound Stage, should be good to do production in less than a year. One of my favorite things in still shooting is building and shooting on sets. This is that on steroids. Wish us luck!

May have found a way to return home on a full time basis. No more labor exile. That only took three years. On another note, I have put up a new gallery here on dA of model photography done in the studio. I was surprised how rusty my skills at model lighting had become. Here are my two other galleries:

We shall never know who forged the word
for the interval of shadow
dividing the two twilights;
we shall never know in what age it came to mean
the starry hours.
Others created the myth.
They made her the mother of the unruffled Fates
that spin our destiny,

Later he would climb down from the high bed and fling the window open, and at that moment he would remember his dream. for although he could not recall a detail of it, he knew  he had dreamed.
